Running a large church such as Holy Trinity is expensive. For the last few years our annual operating budget has been about € 280.000, which is the equivalent of € 770 per day. This sum is met almost entirely by generous giving from members of the congregation. Each autumn we look forward to the financial needs of the church for the following year and encourage all those who consider themselves as regular worshippers at Holy Trinity to make a commitment to provide continuing financial support to the church. Anyone, in particular newcomers to the church, can of course begin giving regularly at any time of the year. This is particularly relevant at Holy Trinity given the high turnover of its congregation.

The annual budget is made up of a number of different components. The following chart sets out approximately how the overall figure of € 280.000 is divided up.



A few years ago Holy Trinity launched an ambitious project to renovate and extend its church buildings. Thanks to very generous additional giving from members of the church this project is now complete and we are able to benefit from extensive and attractive new facilities.

Partly as a result of this building project, there has been considerable pressure over the last couple of years on our regular budget, with the result that the level of our financial reserves has been considerably reduced. The church has therefore made it a priority in the medium-term to devote any resources over and above that required for the regular running costs to rebuilding the reserves.

The most effective way for you to make a financial commitment to the church is to pledge a sum, monthly or weekly. Pledging can take the form of either cash contributions or be made through regular bank transfer. We would encourage as many as possible to use the facility of bank transfer, even for relatively small sums.
