INFORMATION
Church administrator We are pleased to announce that Vicky Barriere has joined us as part time administrator. Vicky is a member of St Anthony’s Kraainem, but knows HTB well from friends in the congregation. As a dual French/British national she is fluent in French and English so she will be a real asset to the team – and make the office staff even more ecumenical! Vicky’s hours are from 9.00 to 13.00 on Mondays - Wednesdays and 9.00 to 12.00 on Thursdays, so we would be grateful if you would ring the office with administrative queries on Monday to Thursday mornings only.
Calling all medics/nurses/first aiders – 9.00, 10.30, 14.00, 19.00. It would be a great help to the wardens and ushers to know of any of you who have medical, nursing or first-aid qualifications, so that we know whom to call on if someone is taken ill during a service. Please could you let Alison Rose (02/763 37 23 or Alison.rose@belgacom.net) know if you fall into one of these categories and would be happy to have your name on a first-aider’s list.
Key Amnesty! If you have any keys to church buildings that you no longer need, please return them to the office as soon as possible! If you have keys that you do still use, please also inform the office so that we can keep track. Thanks.
January Mission Focus is A Rocha. This is a Christian conservation organisation and is one of the missions supported by HTB. For more information check out the website: www.arocha.org The loose plate collections at all 4 services next Sunday will go towards the work of Arocha. Colin Jackson, Director of A Rocha Kenya, will be speaking on Luke 13.18 - 21 at the evening service next Sunday.
News from A Rocha Kenya. One of A Rocha Kenya's main activities is a community conservation programme "ASSETS" which looks to improve the livelihoods of Kenyans living in and around the Arabuko-Sokoke Forest, one of the most important forests in Africa for conservation. Only 8% of the children eligable to attend secondary school are able to do so because of the expense of school fees. Without secondary education these children are unlikely to escape from the poverty trap. The programme aims to channel income raised from eco-tourism into a bursary (scholarship) scheme where children can apply to receive support for 50% of their school fees. For more information see: www.assets-kenya.org
On the afternoon of Sunday 26th January there will be an A Rocha supporters get-together to meet, eat and enjoy a (bracing!) walk together - and there will be an opportunity to learn more about the 13 A Rocha projects around the world. For more information contact Annali:A.Bamber@arocha.org
The Living Waters Singers from the 2pm congregation are putting on a contemporary Christian music celebration for Easter here in Holy Trinity. If you would like to sing in the choir or help with the production of this event, please speak to David Mitchell 02/735 42 14, david.mitchell@mornstar.co.uk
Translator needed The church has a legal booklet in French (‘conseil d'administration’) that needs translating into English. If you are qualified to do this and have time to work on it between now and Easter, please contact the church office.
