Holy Trinity Newsletter

A warm welcome to all today especially if you are a visitor. We trust you enjoy your stay in Brussels and worship with us today. Please join us after the morning service for coffee and drinks in the side aisle. You are most welcome to stay around and talk. If you are new please make yourself known especially to the clergy; we would be grateful if you would fill in a card at the Welcome Table.

CHAPLAIN'S NOTES

Today sees the start of a busy term. The very warmest of welcomes to newcomers who have joined us over the last few weeks. You are most welcome at Holy Trinity and you have come to us at a most exciting time. As many are aware our building project continues and we all much look forward to the developments in the project and all the possibilities that will open up to us in the future.

The big event this Autumn is the invitation sent by Christian Impact to six African Evangelists (including Michael Cassidy) to 'come over to Brussels and help us' (see Acts 16.9). It has been the opinion of many, including myself, that Europe needs the help of African evangelists to enable us to rediscover our Christian roots. They will be here between 7 and 16 November.

We have also invited Martin Hallett to come back to Brussels over the weekend of 12/13 October following the controversial 'Bishop of Reading' appointment back in June/July. Martin heads up True Freedom Trust, a homosexual counselling service in the UK and is the best person I know who can help us through this maze which is troubling so many. He was last here in November 1996.

Please make sure you have the term programme and use it as a basis for
preparation and prayer.

Address list Will all church members please check their details on the address list which is at the Welcome Table at the back of church. This is very important!

Books in the pews We do not have enough books for everyone any more. Before ordering new ones we would really appreciate it if everyone would check their bookshelves and cupboards. It may be possible that a red prayer book, a hymn book or a church bible got picked up by mistake, or for a very good reason, but never found its way back to the pews again. Thank you very much. The Wardens

Urgent accurate help needed We need some help from two native French speakers who have good clear writing. In order to submit accounts to the commune, we need to spell out in letters, on covering sheets, the amounts for each of 250 separate bills! (Sounds archaic? It is, but it has to be done). Therefore, is anyone available next Monday afternoon/evening for about 4 hours? This requires great accuracy, so less haste, more speed! Gareth is setting this up. Please e-mail me peter.walley@htbrussels.com

All people involved in music We regret to say that cables and music stands are disappearing from church. We arrived at 7pm last Sunday night to find that cables used for the evening service sound system had gone missing together with at least one, possibly two music stands. Please can those who took them, return them ASAP. We will be doing a stock take of all our equipment but the general rule is that items such as cables/stands must not be borrowed over a weekend because they will always be needed at one time or another on Sundays.
