A warm welcome to all today especially if you are a visitor. We trust you enjoy your stay in Brussels and worship with us today. Please join us after the morning service for coffee and drinks in the side aisle. You are most welcome to stay around and talk. If you are new please make yourself known especially to the clergy; we would be grateful if you would fill in a card at the Welcome Table.

CHAPLAIN'S NOTES

Harvest Our sincere thanks to all who shared in the decoration of our church today. Harvest will be sent to The Protestant Social Centre as is our normal custom. Envelopes will be available in the pews for those who wish to give to TEAR FUND.

Petronella Collon was enormous fun, enthusiastic, with a sense of the ridiculous and the ability to laugh at herself. While being down to earth and practical, she was a woman filled with God's Spirit. She had a deep, abiding faith in Him and his love for us all. In countless acts of kindness she showed this love to others. Many will remember sitting round her fireplace, drinking tea, while she knitted her blanket squares and listened attentively before offering wisdom and insight. Her home and her heart were always open to those in need. A great encourager, she saw the best in others, praying for 'all that is best in them.Ó A powerful prayer, her daily prayers ranged from family, friends to situations and people across the world. Unshockable, unjudgemental, she spoke the truth in love, from a heart that was repentant and humble. A heart open to God, 'I want everything that is going, everything that God wants to give me.Ó She believed it was in doing his will we would find peace. We were privileged to have known her, a role model for many and a spiritual giant of our times. (Jennifer Le Jeune) Ð Petronella died on Friday 26 September 2003.

Memorial Service A Memorial Service for Liesbeth Knox-Peebles will take place in Holy Trinity on Thursday 16 October at 12.00. All are welcome.

Visit of Martin Hallett to Brussels Martin will be with us for Sunday 12 October and will address an open forum on Monday 13 October at 20.00 in HTB. This is a very good opportunity for us all to develop a Christian mind concerning the issue of homosexuality.

Holy Trinity's communications committee is looking for a volunteer, of any age, who is interested in journalism or public relations to help two upcoming projects. This is an excellent opportunity to learn about journalism and global communication, and only requires a few hours of time for one week in October and November. The volunteer will work under the guidance of a senior journalist, researching media outlets, contacting journalists, and sending out press releases. Knowledge of computers and Internet searches a plus. Contact noelle_knox@yahoo.com.

Contagious Christian Course Overcoming our fears of sharing our faith with friends by being ourselves and discovering and developing our own natural, authentic style of witnessing. INFORMATION

Centenary Renovation Project Around 60 people visited the building site last Sunday to see works in progress. We plan to have another such visit before Christmas. Following comments on the visit, we are adding a second door to the new kitchen. Since last week, the external stair has been demolished and work has begun in the courtyard. The construction of the new entrance can now begin.

Brass cleaner wanted! Would anyone be willing to join the sacristan team as a brass cleaner with the task of polishing the church brasses every six weeks or so? If so, please phone Barbara Rundell on 02/762 11 43.
