A warm welcome to all today especially if you are a visitor. We trust you enjoy your stay in Brussels and your worship with us today. Please join us after the morning service for coffee and drinks in the side aisle. You are most welcome to stay around and talk. If you are new please make yourself known especially to the clergy; we would be grateful if you would fill in a card at the Welcome Table.

A fully staffed crèche for babies up to 2 years old, is available during the 10.30 service over in Church House. If you would like to make use of it, an usher will show you where to go.

The Mission Focus  for May is the Protestant Social Centre here in Brussels.  The loose plate collection at all four services today will go towards the work of the PSC.

CHAPLAIN’S NOTES

The Lord is risen!

He is risen indeed. Hallelujah!

Countdown Just four weeks to go! The grand opening is on the 12 June. Once everything has been finished in the church, the new banners are in place and the new carpet is down, we will see the church transformed. How thankful we are to those who have made this all possible. It has been such a thrill to see ideas generating more ideas and the willingness of so many to make things happen.

Peter Mackenzie says that self help will need to finish by 29 May so we value an all out major effort on behalf of all our able bodied members. After that, an intense period of cleaning will be required getting the building into shape. This will include bringing furniture out of storage in the basement and transferring the children’s and youth department from Church House to the Charles Le Jeune Centre.

Pews in the side aisle Council agreed, as an experiment, to put the side aisle pews back slightly angled roughly facing the pulpit. The congregation could then decide whether they felt this is an improvement.

Ascension Day Service There will be a service next Thursday evening at 20.00 in the church.

Confirmation Service During the next couple of weeks will you please let any of the clergy know as to whether you (or members of your family) would like to be confirmed. A Confirmation Service could be planned during the late Autumn.

Children’s and Youth Work at Holy Trinity In order to cope with the ever-expanding number of children and young people coming on a Sunday morning to Holy Trinity and the loss of some key leaders and helpers in the next few months we urgently need some new leaders and helpers.  The minimum commitment is one Sunday morning per month plus time spent for preparation and prayer. If extra leaders and helpers cannot be found then it is very possible that we will have to cancel some classes some weeks so please - HELP US OUT!! If you are at all interested and want to talk about it further then please e-mail Heather Roy on hjroy@yahoo.co.uk THANK YOU!

CRP News

·       The Opening The Bishop of London will open our renovated building on 12 June at 14.00. The service will be approximately forty minutes followed by the formal opening in the presence of five ambassadors who will represent the forty-fifty nationalities who worship here in any given month. With the entry of the ten new countries to the European Union a whole new and exciting area of mission lies before this church. Let’s pray that the Lord will begin to do a new thing among us. ‘See, I have placed before you an open door.’ Revelation 3.8

·       Council agreed at their last meeting that the church should hold a ‘Thank offering’ over the weekend 12/13 June. The kitchen still needs to be funded (apart from the basic infrastructure) and I am very keen to see it in place by the beginning of September.

·       A great stay at the Hilton for our opening weekend! There is a special arrangement with the Hilton Hotel for former members and visitors who would like to come for the opening. We have negotiated a price of €99 per double room per night. Please contact the church office for further information.
