Today’s loose plate collections will be going to support African Enterprise which was founded by Michael Cassidy in 1962 to ‘Evangelise the Cities of Africa through Word and Deed in Partnership with the Church’. Since that time Michael and AE were instrumental in bringing about the changes that brought the first fully democratic elections in South Africa in 1994 with Nelson Mandela being elected as President. AE has also been instrumental in reconciliation issues in Uganda and Rwanda as well as in a number of other African countries. Following the leadership mission to Brussels in 2000 an office was opened in Belgium under the leadership of Lynn Badcock. Just recently Filip Ameloot accompanied Lynn to AE’s citywide mission to Kinshasa and they will be sharing their experiences in today’s services.
