THE PLANT
HTB is situated down-town in a shopping and business area that was residential and genteel when the church was built 100 years ago. Next door is a night club. Times have changed. We display an illuminated cross to challenge the neon lights of the night club with our own form of crazy love.
We have just completed a major Centenary Renovation Project that has refurbished and modernized both church and halls. The church seats 240 comfortably and can hold more at a pinch. The halls are well-appointed for modern needs. Although there may be details to finish, the Centenary Renovation Project has not left HTB with a serious debt burden. Far better, it has shown us what we can do.
The church is readily accessible by public transport from all over Brussels. It has a car parking arrangement on Sunday for the main service. In the evenings, parking is not a serious problem. It can be difficult during the day on weekdays although there is a pay car park next door.
The former rectory provides staff offices, more meeting rooms and a garage for staff. It will need substantial refurbishment in the next 5 years.

Having a civil engineer on the staff gave us an invaluable source of advice during the Centenary Renovation Project. Peter Walley, who has been with us for 4 years as associate chaplain, enjoys enabling informal worship. “Growing people in their faith and service is a vital part of ministry. Our informal evening worship in the Walker Hall provides a relaxed, safe context for lay people to learn to lead public worship and enables people to grow under the direction of the Holy Spirit.
