| NOMINATION OF A NEW CHAPLAIN The post of chaplain of Holy Trinity and chancellor of the pro-cathedral will become vacant on 31 December 2004. We are seeking someone to join with us, guide us, encourage us, teach and enable us, so that in the strength of Gods Spirit, we may realize our vision together. This is a post for an experienced priest. The successful candidate is likely to be an evangelical who shows ability to work constructively with engaged Christians from all traditions. The chaplain should have proven ability to lead a clergy team and to identify, train, guide and enable lay leaders. Administrative skill is essential, as is a capacity to inspire and motivate others. The working language is English. Additional language skills, in particular French or Dutch, would be an advantage but are not indispensable. Candidates are welcome from any branch of the Anglican communion. Nationality is not an issue. What is essential is to be able to build an inclusive community. |
The patron is the Bishop of London, who will act in consultation with the Intercontinental Church Society and the representatives of HTB. Appointment by the Bishop of Gibraltar in Europe is likely to be for an initial period of 5 years. The chaplain will have a contract with HTB under Belgian law. This will provide a full package of pay and other benefits, commensurate with the post and with the costs of living and working in Belgium. A provisional package will be available for applicants. It will be finalised prior to appointment, taking account of specific personal circumstances.
