Children and Youth at Holy Trinity Brussels

Helping Children and Young People learn about Christianity is an important part of our Ministry at Holy Trinity. We are all called to ensure that the next generation grows up knowing God's Love and leading a life firmly rooted in the values and principles of the Christian faith. To this end, we provide a comprehensive programme of children's and youth activities each week, each tailored to the different needs of the younger members of our church family.

Sunday Mornings at 10h30

During this service there are 5 classes available:

Creche

For the very youngest of our children, we run a crèche that lasts through the whole of the morning service. This crèche is staffed by a rota of parents. Full baby changing facilities are available and a warm welcome assured. To find out more, contact Gail Delyanakis-Russell on 02 649 1130

Scramblers/Climbers

Come and join our 2 – 7 year olds as they shout, sing and play for Jesus. The focus is getting to know Jesus and the world created by God. Music, play and crafts form the basis of the activities, which, like all our classes, are led by qualified leaders and helpers. Leaders and helpers get to know each child and enable them to learn how much God loves them.

Explorers

As our children get older, they start to ask questions and think about what God's Love really means. Explorers do exactly this – they explore Christianity and the meaning of the Bible. Through tailored activities they have the opportunity to learn and think – and through music they have the opportunity to worship. The age range for this group is from 7 years to 10 and a half.

Pathfinders

Understanding who God is just one part of Christianity. Knowing how to live, react and enjoy God in our lives is another part. In Pathfinders we work with the 10 and a half's to fourteen year olds to work out how to walk with God. The pressures of adolescence are integrated into the teaching, which currently focuses on the words of the New Testament. Open discussion is encouraged as is regular prayer together. Challenging activities – designed to stretch the mind and body – are used, as are materials from mission organisations so that the world is opened up and God's Love can be seen worldwide.

CYFA

This is the coolest class in town on a Sunday morning. For teenagers, continuing to walk with Christ can be a huge challenge. In CYFA, we aim to disciple our older teenagers so that they are comfortable and secure in their faith or are able to continue to search for their faith. Key questions of life, relevant to their circumstances and experiences, are addressed and a safe environment is created for questioning. But is not all about teaching, social events are encouraged to develop fellowship and friendship.

Sunday Afternoons at 14h00

As in our morning service, children and youth have their own classes during the service. A team of dedicated teachers and leaders who all take the time to get to know each child personally teaches relevant Bible stories and messages. Singing, dancing, playing and learning, in English and in French, gives each child and young person the opportunity to know Jesus, receive God's Love and feel secure in their Christian journey.

Friday Evening – 8pm

Friday nights see Church House ringing with the sounds of stepping! The Ambassadors For Christ meet and practice their spirit filled stepping dances and then gather together for fellowship and teaching. No subject is off the agenda and peer education is encouraged. Guest speakers, topical discussions and personal support are key to the discipleship of these teenagers.

Our commitment

All adults involved in leading and helping in our Children's and Youth Work are committed Christians who have a heart for working with young people, valuing them as individuals and as key members of our church family. Holy Trinity Brussels also supports the need for care of our children and young people and their right to a safe and secure environment while in our care and supports the Church of England's Child Protection Guidelines.

If you would like further information on our work, or have a child or young person who would like to join us, or you would like to join our team of leaders and helpers, please contact our Children and Youth Work Co-ordinator
